About Food in the City
These events are for anyone interested in food sustainability and who wants to share and learn about urban development and food innovation in the urban field.
Food in the City is hosted by Farmlyplace GmbH at Kiezfarm, Pestalozzistr. 66, 10627 Berlin.
As we settle deeper in to spring and look forward to warmer weather (especially in Berlin!) we here at Farmlyplace are wondering what it would be like to put every inch of usable space in our cities in to grow food. This month we are talking all things food and food production – as part of buildings, as part of cities and as part of our everyday life. Join us to hear from some amazing initiatives, architects and designers working to make our public and private spaces contribute more to the local food economy.
Key discussion topics are:
What opportunities are there to increase food production in our cities?
What policy implications or regulations must be considered
Strategies to inspire collective support for food-centered urban design

Michael A. LaFond – Spreeacker
Rebekka Bode – Founder & Architect, Kirchberger und Wiegner Rohde
Kerem Halbrecht & Maayan Strauss – Co-Founders, PlattenBaum.de
