Food in the City – Urban Design and Architecture for Food Security

28. April 2021 @ 19:00 20:30 CEST

As we settle deeper in to spring and look forward to warmer weather (especially in Berlin!) we here at Farmlyplace are wondering what it would be like to put every inch of usable space in our cities in to grow food. This month we are talking all things food and food production – as part of buildings, as part of cities and as part of our everyday life. Join us to hear from some amazing initiatives, architects and designers working to make our public and private spaces contribute more to the local food economy.

✅ Key discussion topics are:
⚡️ What opportunities are there to increase food production in our cities?
⚡️ What policy implications or regulations must be considered
⚡️ Strategies to inspire collective support for food-centered urban design

🎤 SPEAKERS:
✨ Victor Santos – Intro on ‘Conscious Architecture’
✨ Michael A. LaFond – Spreeacker
✨ Rebekka Bode – Founder & Architect, Kirchberger und Wiegner Rohde
✨ Kerem Halbrecht & Maayan Strauss – Co-Founders, PlattenBaum.de
✨ Lukas Kronawitter – Architect with LAVA

Join us for an open exchange of innovative ideas and opportunities for growth, and get some inspiration from our guest speakers as they show us what they do and why they do it!
