About Food in the City
These events are for anyone interested in food sustainability and who wants to share and learn about urban development and food innovation in the urban field.
Food in the City is hosted by Farmlyplace GmbH at Kiezfarm, Pestalozzistr. 66, 10627 Berlin.
Farmlyplace’s “Food in the City” meetup continues – virtually until further notice – every last Wednesday of the month!
As the weather finally shifts and Fall officially sets in, we want to cozy up with a topic that has been present in many of our previous meetups: education! Education for Sustainability (EfS) “aims to build awareness and knowledge of sustainability issues but also to develop students and schools that are able to think critically, innovate and provide solutions towards more sustainable patterns of living.”
This month we want to explore whether and in what ways education – a critical part of any society – can be one of the main drivers for a green and meaningful local economy that supports local food initiatives. Join us to learn from and about different educational initiatives based in Berlin, understand their impact, and hear what their vision for the future of food and sustainability looks like.
Shane de Lueww – Taeks.ev (Kiez and Spielgartens)
Julia Dalmadi – Future Food Insitute
Nina Blankenstein – Gemüseackerdemie
Antonia Schulte – EF Education First
Nadja Flohr-Spence – Sustainable Food Academy
Join us for an open exchange of what the future can/should look like, and get some inspiration from our guest speakers as they show us what they do and why they do it!
